Day One, Let's Just Take a Random Trip to China Where it Ends Up Being the Best Trip You'll Ever Have in Your Life (The Beginning)

December 30-31 2013, Day 1, Traveling Day to China !

Soooooooo, HI! This is Luoluo, and this is my blog where I'll report everyday about our Jan Term trip 2014 to China. Luckily, my friend Karleigh was fortunate enough to come with me on the trip! So over the course of this trip, you'll see and read about our trip, learn with us about the culture of China, and overall just enjoy the trip with us!

We start our adventure with going to the airport…..

Yes, we are very excited….. And to pass the time, we decided to circle the airport.

Before we known it, it was boarding time (:. See you on the other side!
14 hours from Detroit to Shanghai…. You don't understand how pretty it can get when two teengers cannot sit still for that long, it gets pretty brutal around hour 3… On the bright side, we did get some pretty views looking down from the plane. I think we pasted over Russia, and like the ocean. It got pretty cold outside the plane, -98 degrees!   Goodbye America, layyyy-tazzzz!

It was like we were chasing the sun. It periodically got darker every five mins we looked out the window.
Yes, it is dark during most of the video. But we had to let you know and understand our darkest moments of the trip, literally.

6 Hours Later……...
3-4 hours later, we finally see the light! We're almost there, preparing to land!

We probably couldn't tell you how happy we're to hear about landing. My legs were starting to hurt from sitting, ironically.

But this is China, from above, not much to see yet, but we were close!

The excitement was unreal!

So when we got off the plane, we went through customs, got our luggage, found our tour guide, and finally made our way to ride the fastest train in the world! It's the maglev, or the magnetic train, going at 300ish km/h, about 187 mph. It went from the airport to downtown Shanghai, a car ride that usually lasted an hour. So it was real convenient.

So after, we drove from Shanghai to Suzhou, another town an hour away. Our first stop was a place that strongly resembled Venice, but Chinese. So at this Oriental Venice location, we got dinner and looked all the shops that was there. We were all very excited, but very tired.
